The year 2021 is a year full of constant change. Change breeds learning. These are the notes I make throughout 2021 that I write to remind myself what I should strive to be privately, and at first, I intended to keep it that way. However, after showing what I learned to some of my friends, they convinced me to publish this to help others. All these lessons were taken from events I experienced or books/articles/stories from others I, fortunately, learned from before making the mistakes myself. So here are 22 lessons for the year 2022:
- Slow down. One thing at a time.
- You’ll feel powerless when you let yourself become a victim. Understand what you can and can’t control.
- Separate the people from the problem.
- How to choose a job:
- Right leader & mentor
- Right people
- Right culture
- Right vision & strategy
- Spend money to save time, not the other way around
- Work, engage with, and associate yourself with people, places, and things that align with who you are, what you believe, and what you want for your life.
- Leave other people’s mistakes where they lie.
- To accept it without arrogance, to let it go with indifference.
- You have a job; it’s not the job having you.
- You don’t see things as they are; you see them as you are.
- Everything is hard before it is easy.
- People can change, just not because of others.
- There are many sources of happiness and contentment around you. Do you let yourself see it?
- The consequences of your anger are not worth it compared to the cause of your anger.
- Making things simple is not a simple thing to do.
- The bitterness you taste will accentuate the sweetness you taste after.
- Will the thing you worry about right now still matter a year from now?
- Everyone is perfectly imperfect, including you.
- Lowering down others doesn’t make you go higher.
- High spirit, low expectations.
- Process, not protest.
- You can’t wait until life isn’t hard anymore before you decide to be happy.
That is all for 2021. I hope that my notes can be helpful to anyone reading this. Wishing you all a productive and fulfilling 2022!
